Review:
Written for five to seven octaves, "American Carillon" is part of the Raleigh Ringers Virtuoso series. It is a highly energetic piece with a slower middle section featuring the tune "Simple Gifts". The opening starts out slowly and builds in intensity, leading to a fiery section. A slower, more melodic middle section features the American folk tune "Simple Gifts," before returning the first theme for the final section. 120 measures. Keys of g minor, G Major and Eb Major.
