Review:
Commissioned for a handbell cruise to the Caribbean, this original work is a musical description of the famous Linstead Market in Jamaica. Bright, colorful, syncopated and fresh are adjectives that describe this happy work. Mallet-rolled chords mimic the sounds of Carribean steel drums, and bongos and conga add to the effect. A front page describes the market and its importance to the history of Jamaica.
