Review:
“Trilogy” is an original major work for five, six, or seven octaves of handbells and five or six octaves of handchimes, commissioned by the Donald Allured Composition Committee for the Bay View Week of Handbells 2009. Its three sections include “Rejoicing,” “Reflection,” and “Dance.” Each has a separate personality. "Rejoicing" is filled with energy and malleted bass notes, "Relection" uses chimes and 2 against three rhythms, and the joyful "Dance" includes lots of sixteenth notes and stopped techniques at a quick tempo. "Trilogy" is 143 measures.
