Review:
An Israeli folk tune is the basis for this lively arrangement by Susan Sylvester. Beginning in f minor, the melody is introduced as a single line that quickly builds into a driving treble melody accompanied by a syncopated bass line. With its several key changes, nearly constant thumb damping, challenging syncopated rhythms, and boisterous ending, this fun piece is toe-tapper with congregations and ringers alike. Optional instrument parts (violin or Bb clarinet) are printed (separately) on the back pages. It is 49 measures in length.
