Review:
TRULY AMAZING, based on the hymn tune
AMAZING GRACE (New Britian, Virginia Harmony, 1831), is playable as a solo with piano, a duet alone, or either of these combinations with the full choir score(for 2-3 or 2-5 octaves, item number SASPHB137). If the full choir score is used, the director might consider having the full choir play on chimes and the solo/duet play on handbells for clarity in the solo parts. Any C instrument within the range of each part, such as a flute or trombone, may be substituted as needed. A vocalist or two may also sing the entire hymn--no text is provided for this piece, so the vocalist(s) must use a hymnal--while a soloist (or duet team) plays the contrasting parts (with or without piano).
