Review:
An optional descant, most fitted for flute or clarinet, contributes color to this combination of the hymn tunes
"Ellacomb" and
"Darwall". A march-like introduction introduces the first tune, which is presented in a straightforward manner. After a key change, "Darwall" provides a contrasting middle section. A rousing ending in measure 67 is sure to please. (Descant score included in the bell folio).
