Angel Gabriel from Heaven Came Down
A lovely new arrangement of the Basque hymn tune GABRIEL’S MESSAGE that will be perfect for Advent. Based on Luke 1:26-38 and Isaiah 7:14, the Annunciation story is set for two baritone soloists accompanied by handbells and optional handchimes. The handbell introduction includes a portion of the passage from Luke that may be read to lead into the main body of the piece, which includes all four verses of the hymn. The vocal range is easily accessible – and could even include children’s voices. Please feel free to adapt this to the resources you have available in your church. Key of g minor.
