Glory on Their Wings
The lovely melody of this original composition was inspired by a poem about angels (titled "Glory on Their Wings") written by E. Brine and included in the front cover. Composed in ABA form, the melody and interesting chord progressions combine to create a hauntingly beautiful feeling of serenity. The optional handchimes provide melodic contrast with a light, malleted ostinato in the treble bells, and later reinforce bass notes during the echoes. A soaring melody with running sixteenth-note accompaniment completes the B section. The 87-measure piece modulates to a new key, returns to the original theme, and brings the listener to a soft, peaceful conclusion.
