Finlandia
Arranger Kevin McChesney has done a fine job of capturing the grandeur and magnitude of Jean Sibelius landmark work. This setting is scored for 3,4,5,6 or 7 octaves of bells and organ or brass, timpani and percussion. The organ or brass play 23 measures of Andante sostenuto before the bells enter with exciting shakes and the tempo shifts to Allegro moderato. All the instruments participate throughout the work and end in triumph. Brass ensemble consists of 2 trumpets, French horn, Trombone, Tuba, Timpani, and Percussion.
