My Heart is Ready (Psalm 108)
This setting of Psalm 108 was commissioned for the 1995 National Pastoral Music National Convention in Cincinnati. It was composed expressly for Morning Prayer and it is a complete and direct setting of The Grail translation (1993). With its simple and lyrical refrain, My heart is ready, O god; my heart is ready, this psalm setting may be used effectively as a prelude, an entrance psalm and as responsorial psalm, provided it is used in harmony with the liturgical season, feast or occasion. 13 bells within the 3 octave range play in open texture and are used to accent the ends of phrases throughout the work.
