13 Stripes on the Flag
Sing the thirteen original colonies in the order they joined the Union in a catchy song and you have the crux of “13 Stripes on the Flag” - fun to sing and cleverly teaching American history at the same time (a la “Fifty Nifty”). Just for fun, the order of the first nine states in the song are mirrored by the melodic intervals sung. Options for accompaniment include piano, guitar, ukulele, ringing charted chords or ringing from a full Level 1 1-5 oct. HB score. You can include Orff instruments and soloists on other instruments in the concert as well. This folio is entirely reproducible, easy to use and economical, allowing many different school groups, grades or classes to participate. Perfect for a patriotic all-school presentation, taken at “march” tempo with American flags waving and big cut-outs of the states. Also available in a digital file for versatile use in projection. Part of the “Sing & Ring” series from ringTrue Handbell Music – offering songs, hymns and anthems with ringing options.
