Malmark  Bell Plates are made of exclusive, specifically chosen, 3/8” thick chime aluminum selected for its tonal quality and vibrational characteristics. Each plate is powder coated (black for accidentals and grey for naturals) for durability and ease of pitch recognition, and laser engraved with the Malmark™ logo as well as the note designation on both sides.

A quick release system was developed utilizing S-biner hooks for easy removal and interchangeability to aid in set up and break down. The plates are connected to the hooks with a two-point suspension utilizing heavy-duty, 3/8” black nylon double braid and a 1/2 “ black rope clamp to minimize vibrations. Stained, pinewood spacers ensure sustain and purity of tone.

The Stand is an essential part of ringing your Bell Plates. The Stand comes with one vertical bar and one clamp.  You will also need a minimum of one horizontal bar for your Stand to hold your bell plate/plates.  When ringing 1 to 2 Lower 6th or 7th Octave Bell Plates (C2-B2) we recommend using 2 Stands with the horizontal bar. When ringing 2 Lower 4th or 5th Octave Bell Plates (C3-C4) we recommend using 2 Stands with the horizontal bar.

Sound Description:

Malmark™ Bellplates are stretch tuned to A440. The voluminous sound with clear, bell-like tone and rich resonance optimally imitates the sound character of cast church bells and offers a good alternative in regard to sound, price and ease of transport. It is characterized by a full sound with exceptional sustain and a strong fundamental. These newly crafted musical instruments are perfect for musical works such as Boulez “Pli selon Pli” or as a substitute for church bells called for by Puccini in “Tosca”.
