Holy Manna (Merry Mallet Melody)
Bursting with energy, this arrangement is played entirely with mallets but remains rhythmically easy with only a sprinkling of eighth notes. In addition to malleting the bells, ringers click their mallets together for added percussive joy. The suggested tempo gives the piece real vitality, but it can also be effectively played a bit slower. The piece may be also rung entirely on handchimes, substituting a percussion instrument for the mallet clicks. The alternate title, A Merry Mallet Melody, makes this setting an excellent choice for secular, sacred, or festival use. A total of 62 measures, this work is written in G Major.
