Mary Did You Know
This tender arrangement of Mark Lowry and Buddy Greene's popular Christmas song weaves handbells, handchimes, and lyrical scoring into a beautiful musical tapestry. All registers are given the melody line throughout the length of the piece, allowing every ringer a chance to "shine". Dynamic changes play an important part in this piece and careful attention must be paid to them. The wistful character of the music is achieved through a gentle (quarter = 80-84) tempo marking and frequent use of the LV technique. 84 measures in all, this piece is set in c minor.
