Performed by Sonos Handbell Ensemble on Well-Tempered CD (Classical Sonos - Item# A133), this setting of the Japanese folksong "Red Dragonfly" is actually a transcription of an organ arrangement by Dr. Joyce Jones. The texture is delicate with passages of eighth notes resembling the flight of a dragonfly. 2 1/2 octaves of chimes and oboe and windchimes are essential to the piece.
